Children (they were very busy as well):
Marina (my grandmother)
My grandmother Marina died when her youngest child (Irene) was 1-1/2. My father was eight years old. When I was 15 and visiting Tia Irmina and family in Virginia I asked her to tell me what she remembered about her mother although she was just a little girl when she died. The four younger siblings took up much of the mother’s time, but Tia Irmina’s most vivid memory was at a time when she was very sick seeing her mother watching over her with a look of great concern. Two of her daughters had died when they were babies.
