Many legends surround the history of the Christmas tree, check EWTN link below:
After my husband and I separated my daughters and I moved to a small apartment. For our first Christmas there, my mother gave us an old artificial Christmas tree that had originally belonged to my sister, then it was passed on to my cousins and when they were ready to discard it my mother rescued it. It probably had had its day so when we first put it up it was a little like Charlie Brown’s tree. Woolworth’s was our place of choice for inexpensive Christmas decorations. Once we finished decorating, the tree looked absolutely grand. It served us well for a few years and many happy Christmas memories.
