NYResI don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions.  Every day I try to be a better person although there are days I fail miserably.  In my pursuit of improving my looks, I have never been able to stick to a diet or an exercise program long enough and at the end of each effort I add on an extra ten pounds.  Those pounds have accumulated through the years.  I have accepted this and at this point the aging factor is working against any hope of attractiveness I may have entertained.  But this year I decided to give this resolution matter renewed attention.  To this effect I looked up the meaning of the word and have resolved to spend 2014 trying to understand its various meanings and in the process increase my vocabulary by figuring out what the heck some of the words used in these definitions mean.
