Forty-five years ago today I walked down the aisle, with hopes and dreams of a happy marriage, children and growing old together. Perhaps we were too young and did not fully understand what such a union entails. We did have two wonderful daughters, but eventually the marriage fell apart.
I was not prepared for Bob’s untimely death in 2003. I could not have imagined how deeply it would hurt. On this day I pray his hopes and dreams are now a reality and that one day we will see each other again. I will never forget that lovely snowy Milwaukee day – December 26, 1970.
